2022-10-31vbe: Record which phases loaded using VBESimon Glass
We expect VPL and SPL to load using VBE. Add a record of this so we can check it in U-Boot proper. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2022-10-31vbe: Support selecting operations by SPL phaseSimon Glass
VBE supports booting firmware during the SPL phases, i.e. so that VPL can start SPL and SPL can start U-Boot. It also supports booting an OS, when in U-Boot. As a first step towards these features, add functions to indicate the current VBE phase. The firmware selection is done in VPL and the OS selection is done in U-Boot proper. 2022-08-12vbe: Add initial support for VBESimon Glass
Create a new bootmeth for VBE along with a library to handle finding the VBE methods. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2022-08-12video: Renname vbe.h to vesa.hSimon Glass
We want to use VBE to mean Verfiied Boot for Embedded in U-Boot. Rename the existing VBE (Vesa BIOS extensions) to allow this. Verified Boot for Embedded is documented doc/develop/vbe.rst Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-12-13dm: treewide: Rename ..._platdata variables to just ..._platSimon Glass
Try to maintain some consistency between these variables by using _plat as a suffix for them. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2017-08-24vbe: Drop vbe_get_video_info()Bin Meng
With DM video, this is not used any more. Drop it. Signed-off-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com>
2016-10-12vbe: Make vbe_setup_video_priv() publicBin Meng

2016-10-11dm: video: Add driver-model support to vesa graphicsSimon Glass
Provide a function to run the Vesa BIOS for a given PCI device and obtain the resulting configuration (e.g. display size) for use by the video uclass. This makes it easier to write a video driver that uses vesa and supports driver model. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com>
2015-08-26video: coreboot: Save VESA mode for future useBin Meng
When booting as a coreboot payload, the framebuffer details are passed from coreboot via configuration tables. We save these information into vesa_mode_info structure for future use. Signed-off-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com>
2015-07-14x86: Configure VESA parameters before loading Linux kernelBin Meng
Store VESA parameters to Linux setup header so that vesafb driver in the kernel could work. Signed-off-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com> Acked-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Tested-by: Jian Luo <jian.luo4@boschrexroth.de>
2015-01-23bios_emulator: Add some VESA interface debuggingSimon Glass
Allow the supported modes to be listed when in debug mode. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2014-11-25Add support for Vesa BIOS extensionsSimon Glass
For option ROMs we can use these extensions to request a particular video mode. Add a header file which defines the binary interface. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
