Migrating our BSPs towards mainline U-Boot I noticed it suddenly booting
slower. With mainline Linux I noticed about a 1 to 2 second increase
while booting downstream L4T takes 10 to 15 seconds longer!

Synchronize environment with i.MX6 U-boot. Load device tree
unconditionally, but set parameter to device tree file only when
loading succeeded. Also load the device tree when using SD or NFS
boot.

Switch to zImage for SD and NFS-Boot. Explicitly define the load
address in all commands.

Newer UBI implementation do not allow small UBI partitions since
the amount of bad blocks is now calculated by the size of the MTD
partition (instead volume size). On small partitions, this leads
to UBI partitions only consisting of reserved blocks. Therefor we
now use only one volume, which also allows better wear leveling
and bad block management.
Since it is needed to attach the whole UBI partition, mounting
the UBI filesystem would be a good option. Measurement showed that
the overhead reading from UBI filesystem compared to read from
a UBI volume is minimal (below 100ms).
Furthermore, this also adds support to load device trees for newer,
device tree based kernels. By setting the variable fdt_board, the
scripts read the FDT file and try to pass this to the kernel. The
FDT file will be concatinated:
${soc}-colibri-{fdt_board}.dtb
E.g. when fdt_board is set to "eval-v3", the scripts will load the
device tree file "vf610-colibri-eval-v3.dtb" on a Colibri VF61.

This adds initial support for Colibri VF50/VF61 based on Freescale
Vybrid SoC. The board support package is based on Freescale Tower
board, with following differences:
- CPU clocked at 500MHz
- Use PLL2 as DDR3 clock (400MHz)
- New Machine ID
- Console on UART1 (Colibri UART_A)
- Ethernet on FEC1
- Enabled command line editing
- PLL5 based RMII clocking (e.g. no external crystal)
- UART_A and UART_C I/O muxing
- Boot from OCRAM gfxRAM
- Boot from NAND by default
Tested on Colibri VF50/VF61 booting using serial loader over UART.

Now with everything in place actually enable i210/i211 aka gigabit
Ethernet over PCIe support.
|
|
Some boards, most notably those with a PCIe ethernet NIC, require this
to avoid cache coherency problems. Since the option adds very little
code and overhead enable it across all Tegra generations. Other drivers
may also start supporting this functionality at some point, so enabling
it now will automatically reap the benefits later on.

The Jetson TK1 has an ethernet NIC connected to the PCIe bus and routes
the second root port to a miniPCIe slot. Enable the PCIe controller and
the network driver to allow the device to boot over the network.

PCIe controller and the network device driver so that the device can
boot over the network.
In addition the board has a mini-PCIe expansion slot.

The PCIe bus on Cardhu is routed to the dock connector. An ethernet NIC
is available on the dock over the PCIe bus. Enable the PCIe controller
and the network device driver so that the device can boot over the
network.

On OMAP platforms, SATA controller provides the SCSI subsystem
so implement scsi_init().
Get rid of the unnecessary sata_init() call from dra7xx-evm
and omap5-uevm board files.

This patch adds board support for the Toradex Apalis T30 a computer on
module which can be used on different carrier boards.
For the sake of ease of use we do not distinguish between different
carrier boards for now as the base module features are deemed
sufficient enough for regular booting.
The following functionality is working so far:
- eMMC boot and environment storage
- Gigabit Ethernet (once Thierry's PCIe as well as my E1000 resp. i210
fixes hit mainline)
- MMC/SD cards (both 8-bit as well as 4-bit slot)
- USB client/host (dual role port as client e.g. for DFU/UMS, other two
ports as host)

These boards do not in fact have a Chrome OS EC, nor a TPS565090 PMIC, so
move the settings into a separate common file to be used by those that need
it.

Since exynos4 and exyno5 share many settings, we should move these into
a common file to avoid duplication.
In effect the changes are that all exynos boards now have EXT4 and FAT
write support. This affects exynos5250 and exynos5420 which previously
did not. This also disables the ext2 commands which are equivalent to
ext4 anyway.

We want exynos5250-dt.h to be a board which can support any exynos5250
device. This matches the naming used by Linux. As a first step, rename
the existing -dt files to -common to make it clear they are common files,
and not specific boards.

With the driver model conversion we are going to be using driver model for
SPI and not for I2C. This works OK so long as a board doesn't need both
dm and non-dm versions of the cros_ec driver. Since pit uses SPI and snow
uses I2C we need to split the configs so that only one driver is compiled
for each platform.
We can fix this later when driver model supports I2C.

Exynos 5250 boards (snow, spring) use the I2C driver but Exynos 5420 boards
cannot due to a hardware design decision. Select the correct driver to use
in each case.
