2021-10-05lib: optee: Remove CONFIG_OPTEE_LOAD_ADDRAlexandru Gagniuc
This value is not used by u-boot, and it should not. The load address of an OPTEE image is defined by said image. Either a uImage or a FIT will have a defined load address and entry point. Those values are the correct ones, not CONFIG_OPTEE_LOAD_ADDR. Commit f25006b96e9f ("optee: Add CONFIG_OPTEE_LOAD_ADDR") justifies this config by requiring its presence in u-boot's .config for other images as part of a larger build, claiming it is "the best way". This argument is not persuasive. U-boot's configuration is driven by platform requirements, not the other way around. It seems more likely that the argument is conflating tooling issues with Kconfig. Yocto and buildroot have excellent mechanisms for defining values across the board (pun intended). u-boot's Kconfig is the wrong place to do it. Furthermore, it is not "best" for u-boot because it hardcodes a value which is then not used. In fact the load address that u-boot uses is the one derived from the OPTEE image. Confused yet? I sure was. To prevent future confusion, remove CONFIG_OPTEE_LOAD_ADDR. Signed-off-by: Alexandru Gagniuc <mr.nuke.me@gmail.com>
2021-09-07imx: Convert SERIAL_TAG support to ENV_VARS_UBOOT_RUNTIME_CONFIGTom Rini
No iMX platforms have supported ATAG-based booting. They have however re-used the CONFIG_SERIAL_TAG option as a way to enable support of reading the OTP fuses and setting the serial# environment variable in some cases. 2019-12-06warp7: Fix U-Boot corruption after saving the environmentFabio Estevam
U-Boot binary has grown in such a way that it goes beyond the reserved area for the environment variables. Running "saveenv" followed by a "reset" causes U-Boot to hang because of this overlap. Fix this problem by increasing the CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET size. Also, in order to prevent this same problem in the future, use CONFIG_BOARD_SIZE_LIMIT, which will detect the overlap in build-time. CONFIG_BOARD_SIZE_LIMIT does not accept math expressions, so declare CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET with its direct value instead. 2019-11-20env: Finish migration of common ENV optionsTom Rini
- In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms. In the Mbed Linux OS bootflow OP-TEE runs before u-boot and provides a DTB overlay at 0x83100000. This overlay should subsequently be merged into the main DTB before handing over to the kernel. This patch defines fdtovaddr at 0x83100000. Signed-off-by: Bryan O'Donoghue <bryan.odonoghue@linaro.org>
2019-07-19warp7: include: configs: Differentiate bootscript address from loadaddrBryan O'Donoghue
Reusing the loadaddr to load the boot script breaks some of the logic we want to have around the bootscript/FIT load addresses. Making a dedicated bootscript address allows us to differentiate the bootscript load address from the Linux Kernel or OPTEE load address, thus ensuring that no matter what the load sequence the bootscript and Kernel/OPTEE binary load addresses do not conflict. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>

This patch introduces the environment variable ivt_offset. When we define a load address for Linux or DTB or any file the IVT associated with that file is prepended. We extract the actual load addresses from u-boot.cfg and feed these values into the code-signing process - hence we want u-boot to have the real load addresses exported in uboot.cfg. ivt_offset represents the addition or subtraction from the load address that must happen to find an IVT header. 2018-04-15warp7: Set u-boot serial# based on OTP valueBryan O'Donoghue
u-boot has a standard "serial#" environment variable that is suitable for storing the iSerial number we will supply via the USB device descriptor. serial# is automatically picked up by the disk subsystem in u-boot - thus providing a handy unique identifier in /dev/disk/by-id as detailed below. Storing the hardware serial identifier in serial# means we can change the serial# if we want before USB enumeration - thus making iSerial automatic via OTP but overridable if necessary. This patch reads the defined OTP fuse and sets environment variable "serial#" to the value read. With this patch in place the USB mass storage device will appear in /dev/disk/by-id with a unique name based on the OTP value. This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_NAND CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI CONFIG_ENV_IS_NOWHERE In fact this already exists for sunxi as a 'choice' config. However not all the choices are available in Kconfig yet so we cannot use that. It would lead to more than one option being set. In addition, one purpose of this series is to allow the environment to be stored in more than one place. So the existing choice is converted to a normal config allowing each option to be set independently. There are not many opportunities for Kconfig updates to reduce the size of this patch. This was tested with ./tools/moveconfig.py -i CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC And then manual updates.
