2015-10-24arm, powerpc: select SYS_GENERIC_BOARDMasahiro Yamada
We have finished Generic Board conversion for ARM and PowerPC, i.e. all the boards have been converted except OpenRISC, SuperH, SPARC, which have not supported Generic Board framework yet. Select SYS_GENERIC_BOARD in arch/Kconfig and delete all the macro defines in include/configs/*.h. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.masahiro@socionext.com>
2015-09-11ARM: tegra: enable filesystem writingStephen Warren
Writing to files is a useful feature in general, so enable it everywhere. The primary purpose is to make DFU useful on filesystems in addition to raw devices. Signed-off-by: Stephen Warren <swarren@nvidia.com>
2015-09-11ARM: tegra: fix malloc region sizingStephen Warren
Commit 52a7c98a1772 "tegra-common: increase malloc pool len by dfu mmc file buffer size" updated the definition of CONFIG_SYS_MALLOC_LEN for Tegra to take account of the DFU buffer size. However, this change had no effect, since typical Tegra board config headers don't set the DFU- related defines until after tegra-common.h is included. Fix this by moving the affected conditional code to tegra-common-post.h, which is included last. Also move the definition of SYS_NONCACHED_MEMORY since it's a related and adjacent definition. Fix the condition to test for the DFU feature, rather than specifically MMC DFU support, so it applies in all cases. Signed-off-by: Stephen Warren <swarren@nvidia.com>
2015-08-13ARM: tegra: represent RAM in 1 or 2 banksStephen Warren
Represent all available RAM in either one or two banks. The first bank describes any RAM below 4GB. The second bank describes any RAM above 4GB. This split is driven by the following requirements: - The NVIDIA L4T kernel requires separate entries in the DT /memory/reg property for memory below and above the 4GB boundary. The layout of that DT property is directly driven by the entries in the U-Boot bank array. - On systems with RAM beyond a physical address of 4GB, the potential existence of a carve-out at the end of RAM below 4GB can only be represented using multiple banks, since usable RAM is not contiguous. While making this change, add a lot more comments re: how and why RAM is represented in banks, and implement a few more "semantic" functions that define (and perhaps later detect at run-time) the size of any carve-out. 2015-08-13kconfig: add config option for shell promptNikita Kiryanov
Add option to set shell prompt string from menuconfig and migrate boards globally. The migration is done as follows: - Boards that explicitly and unconditionally set CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT had the entry moved to their defconfig files. - Boards that defined some kind of #ifdef logic which selects the CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT (for example qemu-mips) got an #undef CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT right before the #ifdef logic and were left alone. - This change forces CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT to be a per board decision, and thus CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT was removed from all <soc>_common.h and <arch>_common.h files. This results in a streamlined default value across platforms, and includes the following files: spear-common, sunxi-common, mv-common, ti_armv7_common, tegra-common, at91-sama5_common, and zynq-common. - Boards that relied on <arch/soc>_common.h values of CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT were not updated in their respective defconfig files under the assumption that since they did not explicitly define a value, they're fine with whatever the default is. - On the other hand, boards that relied on a value defined in some <boards>_common.h file such as woodburn_common, rpi-common, bur_am335x_common, ls2085a_common, siemens_am33x_common, and omap3_evm_common, had their values moved to the respective defconfig files. - The define V_PROMPT was removed, since it is not used anywhere except for assigning a value for CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT. 2015-03-04dm: tegra: Enable driver model in SPL and adjust the GPIO driverSimon Glass

2015-03-04ARM: tegra: move common config defines centrallyStephen Warren
All boards need CONFIG_BOARD_EARLY_INIT_F, and many actively need CONFIG_BOARD_LATE_INIT. Move both of these into tegra-common.h so that board config headers don't need to repeatedly define them. Later commits will add new code in board_late_init() which applies to all boards, so CONFIG_BOARD_LATE_INIT should be enabled for all Tegra boards. 2014-09-10tegra: Convert tegra GPIO driver to use driver modelSimon Glass
This is an implementation of GPIOs for Tegra that uses driver model. It has been tested on trimslice and also using the new iotrace feature. The implementation uses a top-level GPIO device (which has no actual GPIOS). Under this all the banks are created as separate GPIO devices. The GPIOs are named as per the Tegra datasheet/header files: A0..A7, B0..B7, ..., Z0..Z7, AA0..AA7, etc. Since driver model is not yet available before relocation, or in SPL, a special function is provided for seaboard's SPL code. 2014-05-13ARM: tegra: set CONFIG_SYS_MMC_MAX_DEVICEStephen Warren
If CONFIG_API is ever to be enabled on Tegra, this define must be set, since api/api_storage.c uses it. A couple of annoyting things about CONFIG_SYS_MMC_MAX_DEVICE 1) It isn't documented in README. The same is true for a lot of similar defines used by api_storage.c. 2) It doesn't represent MAX_DEVICE but rather NUM_DEVICES, since the valid values are 0..n-1 not 0..n. However, I this patch does not address those shortcomings. Signed-off-by: Stephen Warren <swarren@nvidia.com> Signed-off-by: Tom Warren <twarren@nvidia.com>

2014-03-07kbuild: add CONFIG_ prefix to USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCCMasahiro Yamada
Before this commit, USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC was defined in arch-specific config.mk and referenced in arch/$(ARCH)/lib/Makefile. We are not happy about parsing config.mk again and again. We have to keep the same behavior with a different way. By adding "CONFIG_" prefix, this macro appears in include/autoconf.mk, include/spl-autoconf.mk. (And treating USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC as CONFIG macro is reasonable enough.) Tegra SoC family defined USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC as "yes" in arch/arm/cpu/arm720t/tegra*/config.mk, whereas did not define it in arch/arm/cpu/armv7/tegra*/config.mk. It means Tegra enables PRIVATE_LIBGCC only for SPL. We can describe the same behavior by adding #ifdef CONFIG_SPL_BUILD # define CONFIG_USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC #endif to include/configs/tegra-common.h.
