2019-11-20env: Finish migration of common ENV optionsTom Rini
- In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. 2018-03-16Convert all of CONFIG_CONS_INDEX to KconfigTom Rini
This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_CONS_INDEX We have existing entries for this option in a number of places, with different guards on them. They're also sometimes used for things not directly inside of the serial driver. First, introduce a new symbol to guard the use of CONFIG_CONS_INDEX, so that in the case where we don't need this for the serial driver, but for some other use, we can still do it. Next, consolidate all of these into the single entry in drivers/serial/Kconfig. Finally, introduce CONS_INDEX_[023456] so that we can imply a correct value here to make the defconfig side of this smaller. On the NIOS2 and Xtensa architectures, we do not have CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE set. This is a strict migration of the current values into the defconfig and removing them from the headers. 2017-09-03include/configs: remove numerous CONFIG_SYS_BARGSIZE definitionsThomas Petazzoni
This commit removes definitions of CONFIG_SYS_BARGSIZE defined to be equal to CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE in numerous configuration files. We remove such definitions in two situations: - CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE is otherwise not defined in the board configuration file, which means the default value of CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE == 256 applies. In this case, the default value of CONFIG_SYS_BARGSIZE == 512 (common/image.c) is suitable, as it is larger. - CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE is defined in the board configuration file, but to a value equal or less than 512. In this case, the default value of CONFIG_SYS_BARGSIZE == 512 (common.image.c) is suitable, as it is equal or larger. As the help message of CONFIG_BOOTDELAY says, CONFIG_BOOTDELAY=-2 means the autoboot with no delay, with no abort check even if CONFIG_ZERO_BOOTDELAY_CHECK is defined. To sum up, the autoboot behaves as follows: [1] CONFIG_BOOTDELAY=0 && CONFIG_ZERO_BOOTDELAY_CHECK=y autoboot with no delay, but you can abort it by key input [2] CONFIG_BOOTDELAY=0 && CONFIG_ZERO_BOOTDELAY_CHECK=n autoboot with no delay, with no check for abort [3] CONFIG_BOOTDELAY=-1 disable autoboot [4] CONFIG_BOOTDELAY=-2 autoboot with no delay, with no check for abort As you notice, [2] and [4] come to the same result, which means we do not need CONFIG_ZERO_BOOTDELAY_CHECK. 2015-08-13kconfig: add config option for shell promptNikita Kiryanov
Add option to set shell prompt string from menuconfig and migrate boards globally. The migration is done as follows: - Boards that explicitly and unconditionally set CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT had the entry moved to their defconfig files. - Boards that defined some kind of #ifdef logic which selects the CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT (for example qemu-mips) got an #undef CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT right before the #ifdef logic and were left alone. - This change forces CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT to be a per board decision, and thus CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT was removed from all <soc>_common.h and <arch>_common.h files. This results in a streamlined default value across platforms, and includes the following files: spear-common, sunxi-common, mv-common, ti_armv7_common, tegra-common, at91-sama5_common, and zynq-common. - Boards that relied on <arch/soc>_common.h values of CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT were not updated in their respective defconfig files under the assumption that since they did not explicitly define a value, they're fine with whatever the default is. - On the other hand, boards that relied on a value defined in some <boards>_common.h file such as woodburn_common, rpi-common, bur_am335x_common, ls2085a_common, siemens_am33x_common, and omap3_evm_common, had their values moved to the respective defconfig files. - The define V_PROMPT was removed, since it is not used anywhere except for assigning a value for CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT. 2014-02-07net/designware - switch driver to phylib usageAlexey Brodkin
With this change driver will benefit from existing phylib and thus custom phy functionality implemented in the driver will go away: * Instantiation of the driver is now much shorter - 2 parameters instead of 4. * Simplified phy management/functoinality in driver is replaced with rich functionality of phylib. * Support of custom phy initialization is now done with existing "board_phy_config". Note that after this change some previously used config options (driver-specific PHY configuration) will be obsolete and they are simply substituted with similar options of phylib. For example: * CONFIG_DW_AUTONEG - no need in this one. Autonegotiation is enabled by default. * CONFIG_DW_SEARCH_PHY - if one wants to specify attached phy explicitly CONFIG_PHY_ADDR board config option has to be used, otherwise automatically the first discovered on MDIO bus phy will be used I believe there's no need now in "doc/README.designware_eth" because user only needs to instantiate the driver with "designware_initialize" whose prototype exists in "include/netdev.h". This patch adds the following changes to designware ethernet driver found on the ST SPEAr SoC: - Don't init MAC & PHY upon startup. This causes a delay, waiting for the auto negotiation to complete. And we don't want this delay to always happen. Especially not on platforms where ethernet is not used at all (e.g. booting via flash). Instead postpone the MAC / PHY configuration to the stage, where ethernet is first used. - Add possibility for board specific PHY init code. This is needed for example on the X600 board, where the Vitesse PHY needs to be configured for GMII mode. This board specific PHY init is done via the function designware_board_phy_init(). And this driver now adds a weak default which can be overridden by board code. - Use common functions miiphy_speed() & miiphy_duplex() to read link status from PHY. - Print status and progress of auto negotiation. - Print link status (speed, dupex) upon first usage.
