2018-02-14configs: Migrate CONFIG_SPL_FRAMEWORKTom Rini
Migrate the option CONFIG_SPL_FRAMEWORK and make this gate most of the current set of options we have in Kconfig. We will need to have some options available for SPL and !SPL_FRAMEWORK so this is important. In a few cases we re-order existing options so that we have less escapes from the SPL_FRAMEWORK guard. On the NIOS2 and Xtensa architectures, we do not have CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE set. This is a strict migration of the current values into the defconfig and removing them from the headers. 2017-09-01configs: Migrate all of the existing USB symbols, except fastbootTom Rini
This syncs all of the currently Kconfig'd symbols out of the headers and into the defconfig files. This has two exceptions, first am335x_evm needs to be converted to DM in SPL and then it can stop undef'ing CONFIG_DM_USB. Leaving this as-is results in a build failure, and without work, run time failure. The other case is am43xx_evm.h and in turn am43xx_evm_usbhost_boot. 2017-08-13rockchip: back-to-bootrom: split BACK_TO_BOOTROM for TPL/SPLPhilipp Tomsich
The back-to-bootrom option is rather unfortunately named CONFIG_ROCKCHIP_SPL_BACK_TO_BOOTROM instead of CONFIG_SPL_ROCKCHIP_BACK_TO_BOOTROM To make is selectable through CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(ROCKCHIP_BACK_TO_BOOTROM), we need to rename it. At the same time, we introduce a TPL_ variant of the option to give us finer-grained control over when it should be used. This change is motivated by our RK3368 boot process, which returns to the boot ROM only from the TPL stage, but not from the SPL stage. Today, we have cases where we wish to build all of U-Boot in Thumb2 mode for various reasons. We also have cases where we only build SPL in Thumb2 mode due to size constraints and wish to build the rest of the system in ARM mode. So in this migration we introduce a new symbol as well, SPL_SYS_THUMB_BUILD to control if we build everything or just SPL (or in theory, just U-Boot) in Thumb2 mode. We repeated partial moves for CONFIG_SYS_NO_FLASH, but this is not completed. Finish this work by the tool. During this move, let's rename it to CONFIG_MTD_NOR_FLASH. Now, CONFIG_GENERIC_MMC seems equivalent to CONFIG_MMC. Let's create an entry for "config GENERIC_MMC" with "default MMC", then convert all macro defines in headers to Kconfig. Almost all of the defines will go away. I see only two exceptions: configs/blanche_defconfig configs/sandbox_noblk_defconfig They define CONFIG_GENERIC_MMC, but not CONFIG_MMC. Something might be wrong with these two boards, so should be checked later. Anyway, this is the output of the moveconfig tool. Commit 7a777f6d6f35 ("mmc: Add generic Kconfig option") created a Kconfig entry for this option without any actual moves, then commit 44c798799f66 ("sunxi: Use Kconfig CONFIG_MMC") moved instances only for SUNXI. We generally do not like such partial moves. This kind of work is automated by tools/moveconfig.py, so it is pretty easy to complete this move. I am adding "default ARM || PPC || SANDBOX" (suggested by Tom). This shortens the configs and will ease new board porting. rockchip platform have a protocol to pass the the kernel reboot mode to bootloader by some special registers when system reboot. In bootloader we should read it and take action. We can only setup boot_mode in board_late_init becasue "setenv" need env setuped. So add CONFIG_BOARD_LATE_INIT to common header and use a entry "rk_board_late_init" to replace "board_late_init" in board file. 2016-08-26ARM: Move SYS_CACHELINE_SIZE over to KconfigTom Rini
This series moves the CONFIG_SYS_CACHELINE_SIZE. First, in nearly all cases we are mirroring the values used by the Linux Kernel here. Also, so long as (and in this case, it is true) we implement flushes in hunks that are no larger than the smallest implementation (and given that we mirror the Linux Kernel, again we are fine) it is OK to align higher. The biggest changes here are that we always use 64 bytes for CPU_V7 even if for example the underlying core is only 32 bytes (this mirrors Linux). Second, we say ARM64 uses 64 bytes not 128 (as found in the Linux Kernel) as we do not need multi-platform support (to this degree) and only the Cavium ThunderX 88xx series has a use for such large alignment. If we would like to boot from SD card, we have to implement mmc driver in SPL stage, and get a slightly large SPL binary. Rockchip SoC's bootrom code has the ability to load spl and u-boot, then boot. If CONFIG_ROCKCHIP_SPL_BACK_TO_BROM is enabled, the spl will return to bootrom in board_init_f(), then bootrom loads u-boot binary.
