This is defined based on two other CONFIGs for all boards except sandbox and durian. For sandbox the value does not matter. For durian the value seems excessive. Drop the option completely, to simplify configuration and reduce the number of things we need to convert to Kconfig. 2021-08-30Convert CONFIG_SYS_I2C_LEGACY to Kconfig and add CONFIG_[ST]PL_SYS_I2C_LEGACYTom Rini
First, we convert CONFIG_SYS_I2C_LEGACY to Kconfig. Next, as you cannot have SYS_I2C_LEGACY and DM_I2C at the same time, introduce CONFIG_SPL_SYS_I2C_LEGACY so that we can enable the legacy option only in SPL. It is quite confusing that CONFIG_SYS_I2C selects the legacy I2C and CONFIG_DM_I2C selects the current I2C. The deadline to migrate I2C is less than a year away. Also we want to have a CONFIG_I2C for U-Boot proper just like we have CONFIG_SPL_I2C for SPL, so we can simplify the Makefile rules. Rename this symbol so it is clear it is going away. 2020-07-27armv8: layerscape: properly use CPU_RELEASE_ADDRMichael Walle
The generic armv8 code already has support to bring up the secondary cores. Thus, don't hardcode the jump in the layerscape lowlevel_init to the spin table code; instead just return early and let the common armv8 code handle the jump. This way we can actually use the CPU_RELEASE_ADDR feature. 2019-11-20env: Finish migration of common ENV optionsTom Rini
- In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. They're also sometimes used for things not directly inside of the serial driver. First, introduce a new symbol to guard the use of CONFIG_CONS_INDEX, so that in the case where we don't need this for the serial driver, but for some other use, we can still do it. Next, consolidate all of these into the single entry in drivers/serial/Kconfig. Finally, introduce CONS_INDEX_[023456] so that we can imply a correct value here to make the defconfig side of this smaller. Using changes in this patch we were able to reduce approx 8k size of u-boot-spl.bin image. Following is breif description of changes to reduce SPL size: 1. Changes in board/freescale/ls1088a/Makefile to remove compilation of eth.c and cpld.c in case of SPL build. 2. Changes in board/freescale/ls1088a/ls1088a.c to keep board_early_init_f funcations in case of SPL build. 3. Changes in ls1088a_common.h & ls1088ardb.h to remove driver specific macros due to which static data was being compiled in case of SPL build.
