2021-10-05demo: migrate uclass to livetreePatrick Delaunay
Use dev_ function to read the sides and colour to support a live tree. Signed-off-by: Patrick Delaunay <patrick.delaunay@foss.st.com> Reviewed-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2021-02-02common: Drop asm/global_data.h from common headerSimon Glass
Move this out of the common header and include it only where needed. In a number of cases this requires adding "struct udevice;" to avoid adding another large header or in other cases replacing / adding missing header files that had been pulled in, very indirectly. Finally, we have a few cases where we did not need to include <asm/global_data.h> at all, so remove that include. 2020-12-13dm: treewide: Rename dev_get_platdata() to dev_get_plat()Simon Glass
Rename this to be consistent with the change from 'platdata'. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-05-18common: Drop log.h from common headerSimon Glass
Move this header out of the common header. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2017-02-08dm: core: Replace of_offset with accessorSimon Glass
At present devices use a simple integer offset to record the device tree node associated with the device. In preparation for supporting a live device tree, which uses a node pointer instead, refactor existing code to access this field through an inline function. 2015-01-29dm: demo: Add a simple GPIO demonstrationSimon Glass
Add a new 'demo light' command which uses GPIOs to control imaginary lights. Each light is assigned a bit number in the overall value. This provides an example driver for using the new GPIO API. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2014-07-23dm: Give the demo uclass a nameSimon Glass
Uclasses should be named, so add a name for the demo uclass. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2014-05-27dm: rename device struct to udeviceHeiko Schocher
using UBI and DM together leads in compiler error, as both define a "struct device", so rename "struct device" in include/dm/device.h to "struct udevice", as we use linux code (MTD/UBI/UBIFS some USB code,...) and cannot change the linux "struct device" Signed-off-by: Heiko Schocher <hs@denx.de> Cc: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Cc: Marek Vasut <marex@denx.de>
2014-03-04dm: Add a demonstration/example driverSimon Glass
As an example of how to write a uclass and a driver, provide a demo version of each, accessible through the 'demo' command. To use these with driver model, define CONFIG_CMD_DEMO and CONFIG_DM_DEMO. The two demo drivers are enabled with CONFIG_DM_DEMO_SIMPLE and CONFIG_DM_DEMO_SHAPE.
