2020-10-08qemu-arm64: Enable POSITION_INDEPENDENTAndre Przywara
Now that PIE works when U-Boot is started from ROM, let's enable CONFIG_POSITION_INDEPENDENT, which allows to load U-Boot also via ARM Trusted-Firmware's fip.bin to DRAM, without tweaking the configuration. To get a writable initial stack, we need to keep the fixed initial stack pointer, which points to DRAM in our case. - In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms. This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_USE_PREBOOT CONFIG_PREBOOT Both are together in one commit, since otherwise the former causes kconfig to define the latter, which gives duplicate symbol errors. 2018-12-12qemu-arm: Add persistent environment supportSumit Garg
Currently on qemu-arm platforms environment is kept in RAM. Instead use pflash device 1 to provide persistent environment support across device reset. We have the following cases: - CONFIG_NR_DRAM_BANKS was defined, migrate normally - CONFIG_NR_DRAM_BANKS_MAX was defined and then used for CONFIG_NR_DRAM_BANKS after a check, just migrate it over now. - CONFIG_NR_DRAM_BANKS was very oddly defined on p2771-0000-* (to 1024 + 2), set this to 8. 2018-07-19ARM: qemu-arm: enable RTCHeinrich Schuchardt
QEMU provides an emulated ARM AMBA PrimeCell PL031 RTC. The patch sets the base address in the board include file according to the definition in hw/arm/virt.c of the QEMU source. It defines the Kconfig option for the existing driver, and enables the RTC driver in qemu_arm64_defconfig and qemu_arm_defconfig as well as the date command. We need an RTC to provide the GetTime() runtime service in the UEFI subsystem. 2018-02-11configs: Migrate CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASETom Rini
On the NIOS2 and Xtensa architectures, we do not have CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE set. This is a strict migration of the current values into the defconfig and removing them from the headers. This adds support for '-machine virt' on AArch64. This is rather simple: we just add TARGET_QEMU_ARM_xxBIT to select a few different Kconfig symbols, provide the ARMv8 memory map from the board file and add a new defconfig based on the 32-bit defconfig.
