2015-05-10overo: Fix regression introduced in a6b541bArun Bharadwaj
U-Boot has been broken on Overo boards since commit a6b541b09022acb6f7c2754100ae26bd44eed1d9. This is because the gd pointer is not set early enough anymore, such that the i2c_set_bus_num in get_board_revision can safely execute. This results in a console hang at SPL and the boot does not proceed. This piece of code is anyway necessary only for really old Overo boards with revision numbers <= 2410 and not required for the newer boards. For these older boards, u-boot v2014.10 still works fine. 2015-05-10overo: Split overo.c into spl.c, common.c and overo.cArun Bharadwaj
This separates the SPL-specific code from the u-boot-specific code for the Overo board following the discussion at http://lists.denx.de/pipermail/u-boot/2015-April/211622.html The code is split up into spl.c, overo.c and common.c (which has the code common to both) Signed-off-by: Arun Bharadwaj <arun@gumstix.com>

2014-12-04omap_hsmmc: Board-specific TWL4030 MMC power initializationsPaul Kocialkowski
Boards using the TWL4030 regulator may not all use the LDOs the same way (e.g. MMC2 power can be controlled by another LDO than VMMC2). This delegates TWL4030 MMC power initializations to board-specific functions, that may still call twl4030_power_mmc_init for the default behavior. 2014-09-13kconfig: remove redundant "string" type in arch and board KconfigsMasahiro Yamada
Now the types of CONFIG_SYS_{ARCH, CPU, SOC, VENDOR, BOARD, CONFIG_NAME} are specified in arch/Kconfig. We can delete the ones in arch and board Kconfig files. This commit can be easily reproduced by the following command: find . -name Kconfig -a ! -path ./arch/Kconfig | xargs sed -i -e ' /config[[:space:]]SYS_\(ARCH\|CPU\|SOC\|\VENDOR\|BOARD\|CONFIG_NAME\)/ { N s/\n[[:space:]]*string// } ' Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <yamada.m@jp.panasonic.com>

2014-07-30Add board MAINTAINERS filesMasahiro Yamada
We have switched to Kconfig and the boards.cfg file is going to be removed. We have to retrieve the board status and maintainers information from it. The MAINTAINERS format as in Linux Kernel would be nice because we can crib the scripts/get_maintainer.pl script. After some discussion, we chose to put a MAINTAINERS file under each board directory, not the top-level one because we want to collect relevant information for a board into a single place. TODO: Modify get_maintainer.pl to scan multiple MAINTAINERS files. 2014-07-30kconfig: add board Kconfig and defconfig filesMasahiro Yamada
This commit adds: - arch/${ARCH}/Kconfig provide a menu to select target boards - board/${VENDOR}/${BOARD}/Kconfig or board/${BOARD}/Kconfig set CONFIG macros to the appropriate values for each board - configs/${TARGET_BOARD}_defconfig default setting of each board (This commit was automatically generated by a conversion script based on boards.cfg) In Linux Kernel, defconfig files are located under arch/${ARCH}/configs/ directory. It works in Linux Kernel since ARCH is always given from the command line for cross compile. But in U-Boot, ARCH is not given from the command line. Which means we cannot know ARCH until the board configuration is done. That is why all the "*_defconfig" files should be gathered into a single directory ./configs/. 2014-06-19omap3: overo: Select fdtfile for expansion boardAsh Charles
The u-boot Overo board actually supports both Overo (OMAP35xx) and Overo Storm (AM/DM37xx) COMs with a range of different expansion boards. This provides a mechanism to select the an appropriate device tree file based on the processor version and, if available, the expansion board ID written on the expansion board EEPROM. To match the 3.15+ kernels, fdtfile names have this format: "omap3-overo[-storm]-<expansion board name>.dtb" By default, we use "omap3-overo-storm-tobi.dtb". 2012-12-10Pass sdrc timing values through board_sdrc_timings structurePeter Barada

By moving the CS4 configuration into the board specific configuration, it is left free for custom carrier boards. 2011-10-27omap: overo: Disable pull-ups on camera PCLK, HS and VS signalsSteve Sakoman
The level shifters used on the Caspa camera module have a 4k output impedance. Combined with the 100uA pull-up resistors in the OMAP3, this raises the ground level to 400mV. Adding crosstalk between the pixel clock and the HS/VS signals on the flat cable (a ground line in between would have been nice), logic 0 levels can raise up to 650mV. This exceeds the camera input pins VIL maximum voltage. This change suggested-by Laurent Pinchart Signed-off-by: Steve Sakoman <steve@sakoman.com> Signed-off-by: Sandeep Paulraj <s-paulraj@ti.com>

2010-11-17Switch from archive libraries to partial linkingSebastien Carlier
Before this commit, weak symbols were not overridden by non-weak symbols found in archive libraries when linking with recent versions of binutils. As stated in the System V ABI, "the link editor does not extract archive members to resolve undefined weak symbols". This commit changes all Makefiles to use partial linking (ld -r) instead of creating library archives, which forces all symbols to participate in linking, allowing non-weak symbols to override weak symbols as intended. This approach is also used by Linux, from which the gmake function cmd_link_o_target (defined in config.mk and used in all Makefiles) is inspired. The name of each former library archive is preserved except for extensions which change from ".a" to ".o". This commit updates references accordingly where needed, in particular in some linker scripts. This commit reveals board configurations that exclude some features but include source files that depend these disabled features in the build, resulting in undefined symbols. Known such cases include: - disabling CMD_NET but not CMD_NFS; - enabling CONFIG_OF_LIBFDT but not CONFIG_QE. Signed-off-by: Sebastien Carlier <sebastien.carlier@gmail.com>
