2018-11-19sctp: rename enum sctp_event to sctp_event_typeXin Long
sctp_event is a structure name defined in RFC for sockopt SCTP_EVENT. To avoid the conflict, rename it. Signed-off-by: Xin Long <lucien.xin@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2018-10-18sctp: count both sk and asoc sndbuf with skb truesize and sctp_chunk sizeXin Long
Now it's confusing that asoc sndbuf_used is doing memory accounting with SCTP_DATA_SNDSIZE(chunk) + sizeof(sk_buff) + sizeof(sctp_chunk) while sk sk_wmem_alloc is doing that with skb->truesize + sizeof(sctp_chunk). It also causes sctp_prsctp_prune to count with a wrong freed memory when sndbuf_policy is not set. To make this right and also keep consistent between asoc sndbuf_used, sk sk_wmem_alloc and sk_wmem_queued, use skb->truesize + sizeof(sctp_chunk) for them. 2018-04-27sctp: remove old and unused SCTP_MIN_PMTUMarcelo Ricardo Leitner
This value is not used anywhere in the code. In essence it is a duplicate of SCTP_DEFAULT_MINSEGMENT, which is used by the stack. SCTP_MIN_PMTU value makes more sense, but we should not change to it now as it would risk breaking applications. So this patch removes SCTP_MIN_PMTU and adjust the comment above it. 2017-12-11sctp: implement assign_number for sctp_stream_interleaveXin Long
assign_number is added as a member of sctp_stream_interleave, used to assign ssn for data or mid (message id) for idata, called in sctp_packet_append_data. sctp_chunk_assign_ssn is left as it is, and sctp_chunk_assign_mid is added for sctp_stream_interleave_1. This procedure is described in section 2.2.2 of RFC8260. All sizeof(struct sctp_data_chunk) in tx path is replaced with sctp_datachk_len, to make it right for idata as well. And also adjust sctp_chunk_is_data for SCTP_CID_I_DATA. After this patch, idata can be built and sent in tx path. Note that if sp strm_interleave is set, it has to wait_connect in sctp_sendmsg, as asoc intl_enable need to be known after 4 shake- hands, to decide if it should use data or idata later. data and idata can't be mixed to send in one asoc. 2017-08-06sctp: remove the typedef sctp_subtype_tXin Long
This patch is to remove the typedef sctp_subtype_t, and replace with union sctp_subtype in the places where it's using this typedef. Note that it doesn't fix many indents although it should, as sctp_disposition_t's removal would mess them up again. So better to fix them when removing sctp_disposition_t in later patch. 2017-01-18sctp: add stream reconf timerXin Long
This patch is to add a per transport timer based on sctp timer frame for stream reconf chunk retransmission. It would start after sending a reconf request chunk, and stop after receiving the response chunk. If the timer expires, besides retransmitting the reconf request chunk, it would also do the same thing with data RTO timer. like to increase the appropriate error counts, and perform threshold management, possibly destroying the asoc if sctp retransmission thresholds are exceeded, just as section 5.1.1 describes. This patch is also to add asoc strreset_chunk, it is used to save the reconf request chunk, so that it can be retransmitted, and to check if the response is really for this request by comparing the information inside with the response chunk as well. 2016-08-01sctp: change to use TCP_CLOSE_WAIT as SCTP_SS_CLOSINGXin Long
Prior to this patch, sctp defined TCP_CLOSING as SCTP_SS_CLOSING. TCP_CLOSING is such a special sk state in TCP that inet common codes even exclude it. For instance, inet_accept thinks the accept sk's state never be TCP_CLOSING, or it will give a WARN_ON. TCP works well with that while SCTP may trigger the call trace, as CLOSING state in SCTP has different meaning from TCP. This fix is to change to use TCP_CLOSE_WAIT as SCTP_SS_CLOSING, instead of TCP_CLOSING. Some side-effects could be expected, regardless of not being used before. inet_accept will accept it now. I did all the func_tests in lksctp-tools and ran sctp codnomicon fuzzer tests against this patch, no regression or failure found. 2013-04-09net: sctp: introduce uapi header for sctpDaniel Borkmann
This patch introduces an UAPI header for the SCTP protocol, so that we can facilitate the maintenance and development of user land applications or libraries, in particular in terms of header synchronization. To not break compatibility, some fragments from lksctp-tools' netinet/sctp.h have been carefully included, while taking care that neither kernel nor user land breaks, so both compile fine with this change (for lksctp-tools I tested with the old netinet/sctp.h header and with a newly adapted one that includes the uapi sctp header). lksctp-tools smoke test run through successfully as well in both cases. 2012-10-26sctp: Make hmac algorithm selection for cookie generation dynamicNeil Horman
Currently sctp allows for the optional use of md5 of sha1 hmac algorithms to generate cookie values when establishing new connections via two build time config options. Theres no real reason to make this a static selection. We can add a sysctl that allows for the dynamic selection of these algorithms at run time, with the default value determined by the corresponding crypto library availability. This comes in handy when, for example running a system in FIPS mode, where use of md5 is disallowed, but SHA1 is permitted. Note: This new sysctl has no corresponding socket option to select the cookie hmac algorithm. I chose not to implement that intentionally, as RFC 6458 contains no option for this value, and I opted not to pollute the socket option namespace. Change notes: v2) * Updated subject to have the proper sctp prefix as per Dave M. * Replaced deafult selection options with new options that allow developers to explicitly select available hmac algs at build time as per suggestion by Vlad Y. 2012-07-22sctp: Implement quick failover draft from tsvwgNeil Horman
I've seen several attempts recently made to do quick failover of sctp transports by reducing various retransmit timers and counters. While its possible to implement a faster failover on multihomed sctp associations, its not particularly robust, in that it can lead to unneeded retransmits, as well as false connection failures due to intermittent latency on a network. Instead, lets implement the new ietf quick failover draft found here: http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-nishida-tsvwg-sctp-failover-05 This will let the sctp stack identify transports that have had a small number of errors, and avoid using them quickly until their reliability can be re-established. I've tested this out on two virt guests connected via multiple isolated virt networks and believe its in compliance with the above draft and works well. 2009-11-23sctp: Update SWS avaoidance receiver side algorithmVlad Yasevich
We currently send window update SACKs every time we free up 1 PMTU worth of data. That a lot more SACKs then necessary. 2009-09-04sctp: Sysctl configuration for IPv4 Address ScopingBhaskar Dutta
This patch introduces a new sysctl option to make IPv4 Address Scoping configurable <draft-stewart-tsvwg-sctp-ipv4-00.txt>. In networking environments where DNAT rules in iptables prerouting chains convert destination IP's to link-local/private IP addresses, SCTP connections fail to establish as the INIT chunk is dropped by the kernel due to address scope match failure. For example to support overlapping IP addresses (same IP address with different vlan id) a Layer-5 application listens on link local IP's, and there is a DNAT rule that maps the destination IP to a link local IP. Such applications never get the SCTP INIT if the address-scoping draft is strictly followed. This sysctl configuration allows SCTP to function in such unconventional networking environments. Sysctl options: 0 - Disable IPv4 address scoping draft altogether 1 - Enable IPv4 address scoping (default, current behavior) 2 - Enable address scoping but allow IPv4 private addresses in init/init-ack 3 - Enable address scoping but allow IPv4 link local address in init/init-ack Signed-off-by: Bhaskar Dutta <bhaskar.dutta@globallogic.com> Signed-off-by: Vlad Yasevich <vladislav.yasevich@hp.com>
2009-09-04sctp: Disallow new connection on a closing socketVlad Yasevich
If a socket has a lot of association that are in the process of of being closed/aborted, it is possible for a remote to establish new associations during the time period that the old ones are shutting down. If this was a result of a close() call, there will be no socket and will cause a memory leak. We'll prevent this by setting the socket state to CLOSING and disallow new associations when in this state. Signed-off-by: Vlad Yasevich <vladislav.yasevich@hp.com>

2008-10-08sctp: Rework the tsn map to use generic bitmap.Vlad Yasevich
The tsn map currently use is 4K large and is stuck inside the sctp_association structure making memory references REALLY expensive. What we really need is at most 4K worth of bits so the biggest map we would have is 512 bytes. Also, the map is only really usefull when we have gaps to store and report. As such, starting with minimal map of say 32 TSNs (bits) should be enough for normal low-loss operations. We can grow the map by some multiple of 32 along with some extra room any time we receive the TSN which would put us outside of the map boundry. As we close gaps, we can shift the map to rebase it on the latest TSN we've seen. This saves 4088 bytes per association just in the map alone along savings from the now unnecessary structure members. 2007-11-07SCTP: Fix difference cases of retransmit.Vlad Yasevich
Commit d0ce92910bc04e107b2f3f2048f07e94f570035d broke several retransmit cases including fast retransmit. The reason is that we should only delay by rto while doing retranmists as a result of a timeout. Retransmit as a result of path mtu discover, fast retransmit, or other evernts that should trigger immidiate retransmissions got broken. Also, since rto is doubled prior to marking of packets elegable for retransmission, we never marked correct chunks anyway. The fix is provide a reason for a given retransmission so that we can mark chunks appropriately and to save the old rto value to do comparisons against. All regressions tests passed with this code. 2006-09-22[SCTP]: Remove multiple levels of msecs to jiffies conversions.Vladislav Yasevich
The SCTP sysctl entries are displayed in milliseconds, but stored internally in jiffies. This results in multiple levels of msecs to jiffies conversion and as a result produces a truncation error.
