[ Upstream commit ef307bc6ef04e8c1ea843231db58e3afaafa9fa6 ]
In _dwc2_hcd_urb_enqueue(), "urb->hcpriv = NULL" is executed without
holding the lock "hsotg->lock". In _dwc2_hcd_urb_dequeue():
spin_lock_irqsave(&hsotg->lock, flags);
...
if (!urb->hcpriv) {
dev_dbg(hsotg->dev, "## urb->hcpriv is NULL ##\n");
goto out;
}
rc = dwc2_hcd_urb_dequeue(hsotg, urb->hcpriv); // Use urb->hcpriv
...
out:
spin_unlock_irqrestore(&hsotg->lock, flags);
When _dwc2_hcd_urb_enqueue() and _dwc2_hcd_urb_dequeue() are
concurrently executed, the NULL check of "urb->hcpriv" can be executed
before "urb->hcpriv = NULL". After urb->hcpriv is NULL, it can be used
in the function call to dwc2_hcd_urb_dequeue(), which can cause a NULL
pointer dereference.
This possible bug is found by an experimental static analysis tool
developed by myself. This tool analyzes the locking APIs to extract
function pairs that can be concurrently executed, and then analyzes the
instructions in the paired functions to identify possible concurrency
bugs including data races and atomicity violations. The above possible
bug is reported, when my tool analyzes the source code of Linux 6.5.
To fix this possible bug, "urb->hcpriv = NULL" should be executed with
holding the lock "hsotg->lock". After using this patch, my tool never
reports the possible bug, with the kernelconfiguration allyesconfig for
x86_64. Because I have no associated hardware, I cannot test the patch
in runtime testing, and just verify it according to the code logic.

[ Upstream commit ada050c69108bc34be13ecc11f7fad0f20ebadc4 ]
dwc2_driver_probe() calls dwc2_lowlevel_hw_init() which deassert some reset
lines.
Should an error happen in dwc2_lowlevel_hw_init() after calling
reset_control_deassert() or in the probe after calling
dwc2_lowlevel_hw_init(), the reset lines remain deasserted.
Add some devm_add_action_or_reset() calls to re-assert the lines if needed.
Update the remove function accordingly.
This change is compile-tested only.

[ Upstream commit 55f223b8b408cbfd85fb1c5b74ab85ccab319a69 ]
Returning an error value in a platform driver's remove callback results in
a generic error message being emitted by the driver core, but otherwise it
doesn't make a difference. The device goes away anyhow.
For each case where ret is non-zero the driver already emits an error
message, so suppress the generic error message by returning zero
unconditionally. (Side note: The return value handling was unreliable
anyhow as the value returned by dwc2_exit_hibernation() was overwritten
anyhow if hsotg->in_ppd was non-zero.)

commit f747313249b74f323ddf841a9c8db14d989f296a upstream.
Each time the platform goes to low power, PM suspend / resume routines
call: __dwc2_lowlevel_hw_enable -> devm_add_action_or_reset().
This adds a new devres each time.
This may also happen at runtime, as dwc2_lowlevel_hw_enable() can be
called from udc_start().
This can be seen with tracing:
- echo 1 > /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/events/dev/devres_log/enable
- go to low power
- cat /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/trace
A new "ADD" entry is found upon each low power cycle:
... devres_log: 49000000.usb-otg ADD 82a13bba devm_action_release (8 bytes)
... devres_log: 49000000.usb-otg ADD 49889daf devm_action_release (8 bytes)
...
A second issue is addressed here:
- regulator_bulk_enable() is called upon each PM cycle (suspend/resume).
- regulator_bulk_disable() never gets called.
So the reference count for these regulators constantly increase, by one
upon each low power cycle, due to missing regulator_bulk_disable() call
in __dwc2_lowlevel_hw_disable().
The original fix that introduced the devm_add_action_or_reset() call,
fixed an issue during probe, that happens due to other errors in
dwc2_driver_probe() -> dwc2_core_reset(). Then the probe fails without
disabling regulators, when dr_mode == USB_DR_MODE_PERIPHERAL.
Rather fix the error path: disable all the low level hardware in the
error path, by using the "hsotg->ll_hw_enabled" flag. Checking dr_mode
has been introduced to avoid a dual call to dwc2_lowlevel_hw_disable().
"ll_hw_enabled" should achieve the same (and is used currently in the
remove() routine).

commit f9b995b49a07bd0d43b0e490f59be84415c745ae upstream.
Since 1599069a62c6 ("phy: core: Warn when phy_power_on is called before

is: phy phy-fe03e000.phy.2: phy_power_on was called before phy_init
So change the order of the two calls. The same change has to be done

[ Upstream commit db638c6500abaffb8f7770b2a69c40d003d54ae1 ]
When using usb-role-switch, D+ pull-up is set as soon as DTCL_SFTDISCON is
cleared, whatever the vbus valid signal state is. The pull-up should not
be set when vbus isn't present (this is determined by the drd controller).
This patch ensures that B-Session (so Peripheral role + vbus valid signal)
is valid before clearing the DCTL_SFTDISCON bit when role switch is used.
Keep original behavior when usb-role-switch isn't used.

commit 32fde84362c40961726a5c91f35ad37355ccc0c6 upstream.
When the gadget driver hasn't been (yet) configured, and the cable is
connected to a HOST, the SFTDISCON gets cleared unconditionally, so the
HOST tries to enumerate it.
At the host side, this can result in a stuck USB port or worse. When

DWC2 may be paired with a full-speed PHY which is not capable of
high-speed operation. Report this correctly to the gadget core by
setting max_speed from the core parameters.
Prior to commit 5324bad66f09f ("usb: dwc2: gadget: implement
udc_set_speed()") this didn't cause the hardware to be configured
incorrectly, although the speed may have been reported incorrectly. But
after that commit params.speed is updated based on a value passed in by
the gadget core which may set it to a faster speed than is supported by
the hardware. Initialising the max_speed parameter ensures the speed
passed to dwc2_gadget_set_speed() will be one supported by the hardware.

commit fac6bf87c55f7f0733efb0375565fb6a50cf2caf upstream.
When activate_stm_id_vb_detection is enabled, ID and Vbus detection relies
on sensing comparators. This detection needs time to stabilize.
A delay was already applied in dwc2_resume() when reactivating the

This patch adds delay after enabling STM ID/VBUS detection. Then, ID state

commit 310780e825f3ffd211b479b8f828885a6faedd63 upstream.
A new commit in LLVM causes an error on the use of 'long double' when
'-mno-x87' is used, which the kernel does through an alias,
'-mno-80387' (see the LLVM commit below for more details around why it
does this).
drivers/usb/dwc2/hcd_queue.c:1744:25: error: expression requires 'long double' type support, but target 'x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu' does not support it
delay = ktime_set(0, DWC2_RETRY_WAIT_DELAY);

#define DWC2_RETRY_WAIT_DELAY (1 * 1E6L)
^
1 error generated.
This happens due to the use of a 'long double' literal. The 'E6' part of
'1E6L' causes the literal to be a 'double' then the 'L' suffix promotes
it to 'long double'.
There is no visible reason for a floating point value in this driver, as
the value is only used as a parameter to a function that expects an
integer type. Use NSEC_PER_MSEC, which is the same integer value as
'1E6L', to avoid changing functionality but fix the error.

According USB spec each ISOC transaction should be performed in a
designated for that transaction interval. On bus errors or delays
in operating system scheduling of client software can result in no
packet being transferred for a (micro)frame. An error indication
should be returned as status to the client software in such a case.
Current implementation in case of missed/dropped interval send same
data in next possible interval instead of reporting missed isoc.
This fix complete requests with -ENODATA if interval elapsed.
HSOTG core in BDMA and Slave modes haven't HW support for
(micro)frames tracking, this is why SW should care about tracking
of (micro)frames. Because of that method and consider operating
system scheduling delays, added few additional checking's of elapsed
target (micro)frame:
1. Immediately before enabling EP to start transfer.
2. With any transfer completion interrupt.
3. With incomplete isoc in/out interrupt.
4. With EP disabled interrupt because of incomplete transfer.
5. With OUT token received while EP disabled interrupt (for OUT
transfers).
6. With NAK replied to IN token interrupt (for IN transfers).
As part of ISOC flow, additionally fixed 'current' and 'target' frame
calculation functions. In HS mode SOF limits provided by DSTS register
is 0x3fff, but in non HS mode this limit is 0x7ff.
Tested by internal tool which also using for dwc3 testing.

Commit 0112b7ce68ea ("usb: dwc2: Update dwc2_handle_usb_suspend_intr
function.") changed the way the driver handles power down modes in a such
way that it uses clock gating when no other power down mode is available.
This however doesn't work well on the DWC2 implementation used on the
Samsung SoCs. When a clock gating is enabled, system hangs. It looks that
the proper clock gating requires some additional glue code in the shared
USB2 PHY and/or Samsung glue code for the DWC2. To restore driver
operation on the Samsung SoCs simply skip enabling clock gating mode
until one finds what is really needed to make it working reliably.

Every time the hub signals a reset while we (device) are hsotg->connected,
dwc2_hsotg_core_init_disconnected() is called, which in turn calls
dwc2_hs_phy_init().
GUSBCFG.USBTrdTim is cleared upon Core Soft Reset, so if
hsotg->params.phy_utmi_width is 8-bit, the value of GUSBCFG.USBTrdTim (the
default one: 0x5, corresponding to 16-bit) is always different from
hsotg->params.phy_utmi_width, thus dwc2_core_reset() is called every
time (usbcfg != usbcfg_old), which causes 2 issues:
1) The call to dwc2_core_reset() does another reset 300us after the initial
Chirp K of the first reset (which should last at least Tuch = 1ms), and
messes up the High-speed Detection Handshake: both hub and device drive
current into the D+ and D- lines at the same time.
2) GUSBCFG.USBTrdTim is cleared by the second reset, so its value is always
the default one (0x5).
Setting GUSBCFG.USBTrdTim after the potential call to dwc2_core_reset()
fixes both issues. It is now set even when select_phy is false because the
cost of the Core Soft Reset is removed.

Originally, the core and platform drivers were separate modules, so each
had its own module info. Since commit 2d1165a4b95e (usb: dwc2: remove
dwc2_platform.ko) platform.c is included in the core module, which now
contains duplicate module info (from core.c and platform.c).
Due to the linking order and modinfo implementation, running `modinfo`
on the resulting dwc2.ko shows just the info from platform.c, rather
than that from core.c, suggesting that I am the author of the entire
dwc2 module. Since platform.c is just a minor part of the entire module,
this removes its module info in favor of the info from core.c.

The dwc2 gadget support maps and unmaps DMA buffers as necessary. When
mapping and unmapping it uses the direction of the endpoint to select
the direction of the DMA transfer, but this fails for Control OUT
transfers because the unmap occurs after the endpoint direction has
been reversed for the status phase.
A possible solution would be to unmap the buffer before the direction
is changed, but a safer, less invasive fix is to remember the buffer
direction independently of the endpoint direction.

Squashed from Douglas Anderson's suggested commit
"usb: dwc2: Get rid of useless error checks for
hibernation/partial power down"
- After this commit there should never be any
case where dwc2_enter_partial_power_down() and
dwc2_enter_hibernation() are called when
'params.power_down' is not correct. Get rid of
the pile of error checking.
- As part of this cleanup some of the error messages
not to have __func__ in them. That's not needed
for dev_err() calls since they already have the
device name as part of the message.

When dwc2 core is in hibernation mode loading
driver again causes driver fail. Because in
that mode registers are not accessible.
In order to exit from hibernation checking
dwc2 core power saving state in "dwc2_driver_remove()"
function. If core is in hibernation, then checking the
operational mode of the driver. To check whether dwc2 core
is operating in host mode or device mode there is one way
which is retrieving the backup value of "gotgctl" and compare
the "CurMod" value. If previously core entered hibernation
in host mode then the exit is performed for host if not then
exit is performed for device mode. The introduced checking
is because in hibernation state all registers are not
accessible.
